The PUMA Deviate Elite Hyrox Running Shoes

PUMA DEVIATE ELITE HYROX

Published: 19/02/2026 | Written by: Alex Courbat

If you’ve ever raced HYROX, you’ll know the balancing act. You want something fast enough to fly through the run – but stable and grippy enough to feel locked in on the sled push, lunges, and everything in between. Now, there’s a shoe that can do both seamlessly. The Deviate Elite HYROX is the first shoe built specifically for HYROX racing – created in collaboration between HYROX and PUMA with one clear goal: perform at every single station, and every single stride. It’s engineered for race day in its purest form – speed when you need it, control when it counts, and the confidence to go all in.

The biggest change you’ll notice is underfoot. The all-new full-coverage PUMAGRIP outsole runs the entire length of the shoe and features a turf-specific lug design engineered for best-in-class traction. Made from a durable rubber compound built for multi-surface grip, it’s designed to handle exactly the kind of flooring you’ll find at a HYROX event. Those slick gym carpets that turn sled pushes into a battle of friction? Sorted. Burpees where you’re half-worried about slipping mid-rep? Not anymore. This is proper, purposeful grip that lets you commit to every station without second-guessing your footing.

Then there’s the stable fit. HYROX isn’t just about running – it’s wall balls, carries and movements that demand control. Traditional racing shoes are narrow and nimble, which is brilliant for pure road speed but less so when you’re trying to manage a heavy walking lunge and your foot feels perched on a tightrope. The Deviate Elite HYROX features a wider toe box, giving you a more reliable foundation throughout the race without sacrificing pace. You feel planted when it matters, yet still quick between stations.

Under the hood, everything is built to help you move faster – and feel more confident doing it. The NITROFOAM™ ELITE gives you lightweight, responsive cushioning with serious bounce. It helps you stay quick and springy on the run, while added stability keeps you feeling controlled when the legs start to fatigue. The PWRPLATE runs the full length of the shoe, using a carbon fibre plate to turn your effort into forward momentum. The result? More speed, more power, and smoother strides when you’re pushing the pace.

Running through the heart of the shoe is a full-length carbon fibre PWRPLATE with an updated shape and tuned flexibility. It stabilises the midsole and maximises energy transfer, giving you that sharp snap at toe-off. Crucially, it’s designed to deliver a more consistent and supportive ride throughout the race – whether you’re pushing the pace out of a station or grinding through the later laps when everything starts to bite.

Up top, the premium ULTRAWEAVE upper keeps things light and breathable while providing a secure, race-ready fit. It’s engineered to reduce weight without compromising structure, so your foot feels locked in during dynamic movements and comfortable during faster efforts. Airflow where you need it, support where it counts.

HYROX has needed a shoe that truly understands the sport – one that doesn’t force you to choose between running efficiency and stability under load. The Deviate Elite HYROX is exactly that. Fast when you’re chasing seconds, stable when the work gets heavy, and grippy where it really matters. No compromises. Just a proper race-day tool built specifically for HYROX.
