Meet seven of the most exciting voices in running

Different careers. Different stories. Different goals. Each of our ambassadors is unique, but there’s one thing that brings them all together – their love for running.

Over the next few months, they’ll be sharing everything they’ve picked up along the way. They’ll cover everything from the hottest topics to the questions you didn’t even know you had, leaving no stone unturned to help you become the best runner you can be.

Meet our running ambassadors...

Tommy Trees

Given that he was knocking out half marathons at just 12, it’s clear that running was in Tommy’s blood from the start. And from day one, his goal was always the same: making the Olympics. But when he joined Leeds University and started training with the likes of Alex Yee and Alistair Brownlee, his dream began to feel out of reach, and he ended up drifting away from the sport altogether.

That was until Covid hit and something clicked. Suddenly, running stopped being about competition and became a lifeline. As he built his coaching business and rekindled his passion, he found new goals to chase. And with a renewed sense of purpose, Tommy’s future is wide open – and one thing’s for sure: he’s running towards it at full speed.

Barry Mullin

To make a career out of running, especially after bouncing back from a heart condition, you have to be a certain type of person – and that’s exactly who Barry is. This Irish runner signed up for his first marathon at 19, just "for the crack," but his journey wasn’t without its bumps. In his early twenties, he had to take a full year off to recover. But that didn’t stop him.

When he was ready to run again, he didn’t waste any time. Coming back to running taught him the importance of patience and the value of focusing on his own progress. And now, he passes on those lessons to others. As a running coach, Barry is all about flexibility, personal growth, and helping both new and experienced runners embrace the process and find joy in every step of the journey.

Priya Gopaldas

Priya’s journey from medical student to ultramarathoner is anything but conventional. A doctor by profession and a runner by passion, she has continually pushed her limits in every area of her life. But when it comes to running, it wasn’t always this way.

What began as a way to cope with the pressures of pursuing her dream of becoming a doctor has blossomed into a fierce pursuit of personal growth, resilience, and self-discovery. Now, whether she's conquering 100K ultramarathons or sneaking in a 30-minute jog between patient appointments, Priya’s story is a powerful reminder that running can be more than just a sport.

Leon Parkes

For some, running is just about putting one foot in front of the other. But for others, it’s a chance to push limits, break barriers, and build something bigger than themselves. Leon falls in that second category.

What began as a personal challenge during lockdown has now sparked a movement that’s changed the face of running in North-West London. From a simple idea to the largest running community in the area, his journey is proof of what happens when passion, grit, and a little belief collide – and he’s only getting started.

Fin Hampton

When Fin crossed the finish line of his hundredth marathon in Wandsworth Park, he expected a big sense of achievement. But instead, he got clarity, realising he’d been chasing the wrong goal all along. That turning point changed everything. The ultrarunner shifted his focus, swapping three-hour training sessions for sharper 45-minute runs and putting his energy into helping others unlock their potential.

For Fin, success isn’t about medals or miles - it’s about people breaking through their own limits. His coaching philosophy? Keep it fun, keep it consistent, and keep it light (the vibes that is - not the training!). And, also, always be on your toes, because the next challenge is always the most exciting one.

Liz Newcomer

When Liz first laced up for a proper run in 2019, she never expected marathons to become her thing. "Running was just something you did when you had to, like for conditioning," she remembers from her days playing football.

But from that moment on, she went all in – pushing herself past her limits, setting new goals, and inspiring a growing community along the way. Now, with an MBA and Boston Marathon qualifying time in her sights as well as a social media following tracking her every step, Liz shows no signs of slowing down.

Aubrey Mvula

Aubrey started his YouTube channel to answer his own kit questions while getting fitter for his growing family. But what began as a personal journey turned into Aubrey Running before rebranding to Bigger Than Running - a space where everyday runners finally see themselves represented.

Juggling a banking career, family life, and a growing community, he’s never been about podium finishes. With 10Ks over an hour and marathon times far from the elites, his message is for those who care more about progress than pace. Because for Aubrey, what matters most is to appreciate where you started and how far you’ve come.
