There’s running, and then there’s getting properly into running. Jordan Adams, better known as one half of the FTD Brothers, knows the difference. From everyday miles to the big challenges, he’s well versed in the art of getting out the door.
In his episode of Why I Run, you might’ve spotted a few familiar faces in the kit rotation. No secret sauce, no magic bullets. Just good gear for putting one foot in front of the other. Here’s what Jordan’s running in.
First up, the Brooks Ghost Amp. A shoe that knows its job and gets on with it. Nitrogen-infused DNA HYPE cushioning and SpringRamp tech bring the bounce, while the warp-knit upper keeps things breathable when the pace picks up. Underfoot, the rubber outsole brings the grip. Because the only thing that should be slipping is your pace when you hit that downhill.
The five-inch inseam on the On Men’s 5in Core Running Shorts keeps things classic, with enough room to move without feeling like you’ve borrowed your little brother’s PE kit. Up top, the Nike Dri-FIT Miler is a running staple for good reason. Lightweight, breathable and busy shifting sweat while you get on with the important stuff.
British weather being British weather, the Karrimor Water Resistant Hooded Running Jacket earns its place in the rotation. Lightweight, water-resistant and fitted with a hood and two pockets, it's ready for the inevitable mid-run downpour. Your legs might be soaked, but at least your phone's got somewhere to hide.
Look 2
Some runs are about pace. Others are about getting the miles in without your feet staging a protest. Enter the ASICS GEL-NIMBUS 28. FF BLAST PLUS foam and PureGEL tech bring the soft landings, while the engineered-knit upper wraps around the foot for a fit that feels just right.
This is the one for the long haul, when the route's ambitious, the playlist's running low and the finish line still looks suspiciously far away. Your legs have signed up for the challenge. Your feet would like to thank you for the footwear choice.
Keeping the air flowing when the effort starts creeping up, the adidas Men’s 365 Climacool+ Running Shorts offer breathability and room to move. No fuss, no distractions, just shorts that let you crack on.
The New Balance RC Essentials Running T-Shirt completes the look. Lightweight, fitted and short-sleeved, it's the kind of running tee you barely think about once you're out there. Which, frankly, is the highest compliment you can give a bit of kit.
Two looks, different jobs, same idea. Whether you're building towards something big or squeezing in a few miles before the rest of the world wakes up, the right kit won't run the miles for you. It'll just make you want to get out there and do them.
That's the beauty of it. No shortcuts, no fuss. Just you, the road and whatever you've got left in the tank.
Run like Jordan.
