The FUTURE series has always been about doing things differently. Now in its ninth generation, the PUMA FUTURE 9 takes that idea and builds the entire boot around it. That's PUMA’s creative weapon: a football boot for dribblers, playmakers and attacking players who want the freedom to play on raw instinct.
The philosophy is clear before you get onto the pitch. FUTURE 9 arrives in expressive colourways designed to feel as unpredictable as the players wearing them. The Creativity Pack mixes soft mint, electric yellow, deep teal and black, with brushstroke-inspired graphics. It captures the idea of expressive and joyful football. The Showtime Pack pushes that identity even further with neon and mismatched left and right boots, echoing PUMA’s iconic 2014 Tricks Pack.
The FUTURE 9 isn’t chasing lightness or speed; it's built for control. The biggest change from the FUTURE 8 comes in the upper, where PUMA has re-engineered FUZIONFIT into a one-piece construction, replacing the previous dual-layer approach to get you even closer to the action. A soft internal lining and multi-textured engineered knit create an adaptive, close-fitting feel, while the regular-to-wide fit gives the boot an accommodating starting point.
Underneath the upper is a collection of technology designed around the way creative players actually interact with the ball. 3D Fuzionpods cushion contact without taking away the natural feel of the boot, while GripControl Pro and 3D grip zones add friction in targeted areas to improve your first touch, dribbling, passing and finishing. PWRTAPE reinforces the midfoot, giving you the confidence to make quick movements without making the boot feel restrictive.
The real turning point, though, is underneath. FLEXGILITY outsoles use a circular, dual-density stud layout built specifically for multidirectional movement. Plant, pivot, stop, turn and go again – it's designed for players that'll make the most of 360-degree movement. It's what sets the FUTURE 9’s apart from PUMA’s ULTRA 6, which is focused more heavily on speed.
All you need to do is look at the players that wear them on the pitch: Neymar Jr., Jack Grealish, Morgan Rogers, Kai Havertz and Xavi Simons – players who rely on freedom of movement to thrive.
The FUTURE 9 boots are built for players who refuse to play predictably. To get the most out of them you'll need to see space where others don’t, and can't be afraid to take risks. This is PUMA’s boot for trusting your instincts and making the game your own.
