Emma Drayton – Assistant Manager

I joined the company in 2012 as a part time sales assistant whilst studying at university, to earn a bit of extra money. I found that I really enjoyed the role and the variance that comes with it day-to-day. Upon leaving university I was offered a full time contract and jumped at the chance to work for such a diverse company.

I quickly progressed to a supervisor’s position, taking on more responsibility within the store. A year later I was put forward to go on the Sports Direct Home Grown course, a career development program run by the company, to promote in house talent and dedication. Upon completing the course I was promoted to Assistant manager in a higher turnover store, where I can truly make a difference to the business through driving my store's sales and standards.

I've quickly progressed through the ranks thanks to the support of my store and area manager and hope to keep climbing up the ladder of success. I love my job as much now as I did from day one, and I am proud to work for a company where this sort of progression is possible.
