I purchased a pair of D30 road running shoes 2 months ago and so far I have been very pleased with the performance of the shoes in a number of road races and in a couple of triathlon events.
For more than a quarter of a century I have exclusively used Asics shoes but have been very disappointed with the shoes over the last few years particularly there tendency to fabric tears over the big toe which never used to happen in the older models. Brand loyalty is very strong and it took sometime for me to decide to move to a lesser known brand of shoe like Karrimor. I chose the shoes because they have additional covering in the big toe wear zone which should significantly increase shoe life. I now intend to purchase a pair of D30 shoes.
I replaced the standard laces in the road shoe with elasticated laces which makes life so much easier during races.

I have been running the road and trails for over 25years and in that time have mostly worn asics shoes. I have been increasingly disappointed with what I believe is the poor quality of newer asics shoes and the very rapid wear rates on the toe covering fabric. Holes appeared in my last pair of trail shoes after just 6 weeks and many of my running friends have experienced similar problems.
The Karrimor range of running shoes caught my eye because they are reinforced in the toe wear zone. So I somewhat reluctantly decided to switch brands 2 months ago and bought a pair of D30 road shoes. I immediately removed the standard laces and replaced with an elasticated pair. I have used the shoes in a few road races and a triathlon and they have so far proved to be a great buy. I have now decided to buy a pair of D30 trail shoes.
My main suggestion is to supply the D30 with elasticated laces they make life so much easier. 5 star rating.

I recently purchased a pair of Karrimor D30 having previously worn a pair of Asics Gel Lahar 2 GTX. Sports Direct no longer stock Asics trail shoes and sales staff are keen to promote the Karrimor range as an alternative.

If you are a trail runner these are not the shoes for you. The Karrimor D30 are okay for walking on rugged terrain but the design in terms of practicality, weight, support and cushioning does not lend itself as a sensible running shoe and is certainly not comparable to the Asics Gel Lahar range.

A disappointing shoe for an exorbitant price.
