thumbnailOn the 19th July, the 15th FINA World Championships will be taking place in Barcelona. The international Swimming Federation was founded in 1908 and the World Championship has been held every other year since 2000, prior to which it was held every four years. The event see’s competitions in all five aquatic disciplines, swimming, water polo, diving, open water and synchronized swimming. 
Competing in the swimming for Great Britain, in the men’s category we have, James Goddard, Michael Jamieson, Joe Roebuck and Liam Tancock. For the Women we have, Francesca Halsall. Caitlin McClatchey, Hannah Miley and Elizabeth Simmonds. 
Great Britain has no athletes competing in the water polo or the synchronised swimming.
Competing in the diving category for Great Britain men’s is Tom Daley and Peter Waterfield and for the women’s, Sarah Barrow and Tonia Couch.
In the open water competition swimming for Great Britain we have Daniel Fogg for the men’s and Keri-Anne Payne for the women’s.
The championships also see the return of many Olympic athletes we spent last summer cheering on at London 2012. The events can all be watched live on FINA TV along with videos and photos available for through the website, YouTube and Flickr.
